Job Description & Requirements
 

The Sturgeon Public School Division, located just north of Edmonton, is seeking a full or part-time Registered Psychologist for their Early Childhood Education Department. This position has the possibility of becoming permanent.

The Registered Psychologist functions as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team and their primary role is to assess and provide behavioral support to Early Childhood Education programs.

 

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assess/screen children as referred and submit reports
  • Debrief parents and teachers
  • Consult with staff and families
  • Attend Psychologist department, administration and client review meetings
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists and Family Support Workers
  • Behavioural Consultation
  • Develop Individual Behaviour Support Plans
 
Qualifications:
  • Registration as a Psychologist in the Province of Alberta
  • Provisional Psychologist will be considered
  • Valid Teaching Certificate preferred
  • Use of a personal vehicle and a valid Alberta Driver's License
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organization and team skills & abilities
  • Experience/knowledge in working with pre-school children is an asset
